Overview

Type 2 represents moderately impacted faeces. Constipation and the backing up of faecal matter are direct causes. The stool has a low water content. It indicates that transit time through the bowel is slow.

Advice

Drink more water. Increase the fibre content of your diet. Take more exercise: bowel movements are facilitated by walking. Stress can be alleviated by exercise. A type 2 stool may be a sign of constipation, so it may be worth checking your diet if this happens regularly.
