The Bristol Stool Scale
The Bristol Stool Scale is a well-known chart developed by Dr. Ken Heaton in Bristol, England and first published in 1997. It is designed to classify the various forms of human stools into seven categories (see the Wikipedia article here).
This new iPhone application brings the clear images from the original chart to your iPhone. It allows you to quickly and easily scroll through the different stool types to rate your own stool. Your stool quality is then graphed over time in a simple to understand graph which can be shared with your health professional. The app also presents you with information about each type of stool along with links to more information online.
Friendly Support
Please visit the Bristol Stool Scale support section for any issues with your app. We are also happy to hear any feedback or ideas you may have for improving it.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
The Bristol Stool Scale iPhone app can be very helpful for sufferers of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, or IBS. It can help to track the effects of a number of different lifestyle factors on your stool quality, and this information can easily be shared with your health professional.
